youth.sg - Interview with Tokio Hotel - Singapore 29.04.2010
Tokio Hotel in Singapore
Passersby walking past Ngee Ann City on Wednesday might have noticed a group of enthusiastic teenage girls lining the walkway.
They were waiting for the appearance of Tokio Hotel, a German band that was in town to play at the Audi Fashion Festival that night.
Tokio Hotel has sold out tickets to their concerts in arenas and stadiums around the world, and Wednesday's DSquared2 Fall/Winter 2010 show - while not technically their night since they took on just a 2-song acoustic performance after - was also sold out.
Along with Youth.SG photographer, this lucky fan got a shot at interviewing Tokio Hotel the next day. Lead singer Bill Kaulitz has won thousands over with his originality and beautiful voice. His identical twin, guitarist Tom Kaulitz, is a charming lady's man through and through. And there are Georg Listing, the bassist - he's taken - and Gustav Schafer, the drummer who wows with his muscular arms and faultless drumming. What will they say to this smitten fan?
Youth.SG: This is Tokio Hotel's first visit to Asia. How did you feel when you knew you were coming here?
Bill: We were really excited when we heard we were coming to Asia.
Tom: Yeah, we'd always asked our record company about entering Asia; we want to come to Asia and perform concerts and all that. For us it's great and it has always been like a dream to us.
Will you be touring Asia soon, then?
Tom: Yeah, hopefully!
Bill: We definitely hope so. We're just planning our next trip; I think we are visiting China in July, and we hope to visit Japan for the first time. And we will come back to Singapore, for sure.
What do you think about the girls in Singapore?
Tom: They're very beautiful. We met some fans yesterday and played some acoustic songs.
Bill: They were so sweet yesterday. It was really cool and it's always exciting to meet fans for the first time. It's always such a magical moment.
Which song in your new album Humanoid do you think describes you best?
Bill: I think there're a lot of songs that describe us well. We have "Alien" that describes the feeling we have sometimes, including the feelings Tom and I had during our childhood. "World Behind My Wall" is another song that describes our life.
Tom: In general, every song is something that's come out of our lives, so every song is a personal song.
Georg and Gustav: Yeah, it's the same for us.
You guys look so cool all the time. How ordinary are you?
Bill: We're all different and we each do our own thing; it was never an issue for us.
Tom: And we don't look cool all the time. I mean, you should see Georg at night with his pajamas…
Bill: … and with his teddy bear. I'd always liked doing my own thing, trying new things out, and having lots of fun with it. And Georg doesn't so… (Georg laughs)
It is difficult not to fall even deeper in love with Tokio Hotel. Let us all hope they come back to Singapore soon.

The pain of love/ Kampf Der Liebe
The pain of love, won’t break us up
We don’t need your salvation
Lauf durch die Glut
Marschier durch Schnee
Nur fĂĽr den Kampf der Liebe
The pain of love lives in our hearts
It’s deeper than the ocean
Ich fĂĽhl die Kraft
Ich fĂĽhl mich schwach
Ich kämpf den Kampf um Liebe
And we go on, and we go on
And on, an on, and on
Weiss nicht wie lang
Weiss nicht wie lang
Wie lange ich noch kämpfen kann
The pain of love will last for ever
Flammen fĂĽhren mich zu dir
We celebrate the pain together
Den Kampf der Liebe, Liebe, Liebe
The pain of love kein Gegengift
It hits you like a hammer
Es geht nie vorbei
Weil's in dir ist
Let’s celebrate the drama
The pain of love zum Untergang
Dauert der Kampf der Liebe
Du fĂĽhlst dich frei
I wanna touch
Without it’s not worth livin’
Wann komm ich an
Wann komm ich an
Wann komm ich endlich an
We don’t belong, we don’t belong
Belong to anyone
The pain of feuer kalt und einsam
Promise me, promise me
We celebrate the wir gemeinsam
The pain of Love, Love, Love
Ich lauf durch die Strassen
Durch die WĂĽsten
Bis zu dir
Let’s make a pact tonight
So we can feel this pain of love
FĂĽr immer
Wann komm ich an
Wann komm ich an
Wann komm ich endlich an
We dont belong, we don’t belong
Belong, belong to anyone
Wann komm ich an
Wann komm ich an
Wann komm ich endlich an
We dont belong, we don’t belong
Belong ich noch kämpfen kann
Durch das Feuer kalt und einsam
Promise me, promise me
Und dann kämpfen wir gemeinsam

Tokio Hotel now is free !
Ticket sales for Humanoid Tour is much lower than expected ...The boys from Tokio Hotel have trouble filling large concert halls. That's why there are free tickets for fans. Did the organizers of the concert "Humanoid" tour calculate wrong?
The numbers on the 2010 tour of Tokio Hotel are quite clear. An average of about 4,500 spectators per concert. For example: In Zurich had only 5,000 fans. Had a capacity of 13,000. In Vienna only 4,000 visitors, while it had a capacity of 16,000.
Time has passed since Bill & Co touch against half a million spectators under the Eiffel Tower. As soon as the concert were sold out. The concerts in Russia and Nice were canceled altogether. "Next time we will have to think if we book the band again, unless it reinvents Tokio Hotel and you can win new fans," said Marc Reinhardt and the Swiss organization of concerts Good News.
For places "Humanoid" does not seem so empty, even had to help huge curtains. And besides this technique caused problems. Dimensional egg decoration has not worked a couple of times, the microphone of Bill and fireworks also stopped working a couple of times.
Now a lot of raffle tickets and a free concert in Malaysia on May 1 should appease the fans decepcionados.En official website frequently gave away tickets and not just a few.
Some fans did not even bother to buy tickets, book their trips only. "Apparently, everyone wins one," said Lorena official fan club.
Tokio Hotel had to contend with another problem: At the concert in Prague the "Afghan" stalkers "and Tom Stalker, Perrine, were seen. Could it be that the leader of the gang, which has an official ban, can not stop harassing her favorite Tom?
In his MySpace the French girl makes fun of the conviction of the court with his slogan that says: I'm your stalker!

Tokio Hotel mueve masas

MTV News' Musical March Madness: Tokio Hotel Vs. Coheed And Cambria
Tokio Hotel won the last round (check it here) and now they are at the semi-finals !East Regional Champion Tokio Hotel vs. South Regional Champion Coheed and Cambria
In the NCAA basketball tournament, the lowest seed making the Final Four this year was a number five (both Butler and Michigan State had that number). But in MTV News' Musical March Madness, the Final Four has a 15 (in Coheed and Cambria) and a 16 (Tokio Hotel). It's no wonder, as the fans of both groups have committed themselves to getting each one through the many rounds of this tournament. But only one can make it to the finals, so which will compete for the chance to hoist the championship trophy?

Exclusive-Interview with Tokio Hotel!
Bill: Well, for me a live concert is not only about, having a guitar, an amplifier, staying on a stage and to play for one and half hour...i have another demand...for me it is really a show and we really want to make a show, which fits to the album...some kind of Humanoid city and so on. From this point i was thrilled that Dsquared was ready to make it...the outfits for the tour...and that is truely awesome, that two designer create this...that is so awesome. For me it is a dream come true...more than for the others. For me it is like...yes...i am living this...it belongs to me..i signify to wear such kind of outfits and to perform and sing. In my eyes it is a perfect show.
Speaker: Is it some kind of personal freedom for you to wear such kind of outfits?
Bill: Absolutly...if other people would have a say...i probably wouldn't wear some outfits...even if Tom would have a say.....i wouldn't wear one or two jackets..but of course...that's the way i feel..how i feel comfortable on stage...and that's my way. You can't satisfy everyone all the day
Tom: The good thing in our band is...we live and let live. Georg looks as well like a jerk...it was always like that...so we live and let live.
(Cut You don't hear the question)
Bill: Well...you shouldn't take everything too serious. There are things, that come up again and again, every year and they always appear at a certain time...when there is nothing in line...and they have nothing to report about...and actually, you have to relax a bit...take it easy...and most of the things we don't get to notice....every day, there are thousands of reports about us...in many countries....not only germany...so you have to take it easy...relax and don't take it seriously
(Cut...again)
Tom: Sure...it happend very fast..and in the last five years it wasn't like we could make party with some friends or got to know some people easily..anyway it is not like that...luckily it is...especialy for Bill and me...it happend very early...We have experienced a lot like people usualy do in our present age..We have done it already at the age of fourteen and fiveteen.. ...At that time it wasn't that cool...especialy maybe not for our parents...but now...we are really happy about that...because now, we don't have a chance to do it. Therefore...of course you missed something...normality and so on, But on the other hand , in the last five years we had the chance to expierence a lot of things, that you normaly never every could...Actually
Bill: You can't have everything...if you do that...you miss something else, that's the way it is...you have to take a loss. And if people think....sure...we could make awesome shows, have a lot of money and everything is super....it is not like that.. of course....it looks totaly different. And either you are willing to do it and live that kind of life or not. You have to sacrifice a lot and take a loss.
Tom: Well...it was probably already in the newspaper....no idea....one day i am going to tell it exactly in my biographie ( Bill and Tom laugh)...yes but
Bill: No...Basicly Tom and I had always elder friends. At that time we had friends, who could already drive a car, were a bit older and we joined them by doing things, that elder people do.
Speaker: When did you go shopping food the last time? Doing something normal?
Tom: Ok...that is an example...like shopping food.. a normal privat life...is something that you have of course missed a bit.. When we started...been succesful...at that time you didn't need to it...your mother already did it...in the meantime maybe we should do it...but we could not do it. This is something we never have done. I can remember, that we stopped with bus and went with our staff into a supermarket at night in the USA, when nobody was there. That is the way how we grap some food...but going normaly shopping in a supermarket, looking for your favourite yoghurt...we don't know this.
Bill: Especialy school-time....
Tom: There we had even more problems
Bill: even more...school-time was the worst....that was the worst time in my life...and i am so happy, that i am over it...that i never have to walk in such a building again. For me there is nothing more worse..i have an authority problem. I have a problem, if people want to tell me what to do..and that's how it is sometimes in school. I couldn't...we both couldn't cope with it. From that...yes...we had been only in trouble..with the teachers and of course with other people...and i am so happy....actually all of us are happy that we are over it. I will never be a part of those kind of people, who will say...ok..if you now look back...schooltime wasn't that bad.
Tom: Well, i get, what those people actualy want to say...then you have to deal with different worries...but at that age the problems are just as important as the problems with which you have to deal later.
Bill: Exactly
Tom: They are different...and when you are an adult...you thing, they are much more important...but I know exactly, as a teen, school was my biggest worry. Therefore it was worse
Speaker: Do you had only problems with teachers or also with students?
Bill: With everything, i believe....it's all there...like everybody else...of course you had some fights or people you don't like...also teachers....fights with teachers (laughs)
Speaker: Are there some tussle, if you are so closly on such a little space?
Bill: Well...we try to make it as comfortable as possible for us. We have two band-busses...only for us...Georg and Gustav have one...and Tom and I have one. Everybody has his own room, in which you could shut yourself away.
Tom: Actually people overestimated it a bit...we spend most of the time in the venues. You enter the venue in the morning at 11.00 and leave it in the night at 1.00....and then you are back on the bus and go to sleep.
Bill: There are some days, when you spend more time on the bus
Tom: Right...there some routings, where we drive three days with the bus...and then it will become probably a bit annoying...with such a little space...but the bus is actualy only for sleeping and watching a dvd....most of the time, we spend in the venues.
Bill: Tom and I couldn't probaply travel to this island again...because...some f***ing bastard of photographer made pics of us there ( Tom claps ) So you see, it is very difficult for us...you fly to the other end of the world...and nevertheless some idiot try to make money with you. So arccodingly you have to deal with such things and accept it...but as you can see...it is not easy for me to accept this. It is tough...you don't get used to it...you try to have your own space to be private...but nevertheless Tom and I had a relaxed holiday....
Speaker: Wouldn't it be easier for you to live for example in the USA?
Bill: Well...I thing of course it would be easier for us..but we could also move to the province..where nobody lives and there are only two houses...but the question is of course...would you be happy there? In Germany are our families...this our home...here you speak german...this is our home-country. We truely feel at home here.....and even if it is the strenous country for us, we coulnd't imagine to leave it...maybe for a half year...but to leave Germany i could simply imagine. We all grow up here.
Bill: What we are doing, as nothing to do with end of the work day. You don't flip your laptop shut leave the office and say ok...now i have freetime. It is in your head...every day...all day long..you deal with it.....that's our life...you never reach the point..
Tom: That means...everything that you try to reach personaly has to do with the band.
